In today’s worldwide race to develop new knowledge and to gain access to public funding, networking becomes a key advantage. Whereas it is complicated and costly to try to create, on a local level, collective infrastructures and structuring initiatives that are able to benefit a large number of investigators working in the same field, it becomes simpler and more cost-effective to do this once investigators are able to pool their expertise. The FRQS’s strategic network program targets specific research fields identified jointly by the FRQS and its partners. Objectives -To enhance Québec's research capability by promoting the training, recruitment and retention of young research scientists -To create a critical mass of research investigators capable of satisfying new research expectations, especially through networking and inter-institutional and interdisciplinary synergy among investigators engaged in one or other of the four areas of health research identified by the CIHR (basic, clinical, epidemiological and evaluative, i.e. social determinants) -To improve the collective competitiveness of Québec investigators, especially through projects aimed to help structure research, technology platforms and common services, or by pooling expertise -To enhance the reputation of Québec investigators outside Québec, especially by organizing events designed to facilitate dissemination, promotion and scientific exchange -To promote knowledge transfer and serve as Québec’s science showcase |
