NOTICE: November 1 is a Sunday thus applications will be accepted up to November 2, 23h59. No technical or administrative support will be available on Saturday or Sunday.

This program is designed to promote collaboration between teams in Québec and France that wish to complete joint research projects with value added based on the complementary of their methodological and multi-disciplinary approaches.

It gives Québec-based researchers and their teams, including Master’s and doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows, the opportunity to conduct research as members of a French research team in an Inserm's research laboratory for a limited period of time.

Please make sure to transmit your e-documents to the FRSQ.

-the Canadian Common CV (full CV), filled in by the head of the Québec team, including a list of the team's 10 most significant publications

-the completed application form for this program

Applications must be submitted simultaneously to Inserm by the head of the French team and to the FRSQ by the head of the Québec team, using the appropriate form from the organization involved.

The form must include the French title of the research project.

Paper documents

The post office stamp or fax transmission date is proof of the document filing date.

-the complete CV of the head of the French team, including research funding sources and a list of publications

-an official copy of award and grant notices received during the past four years by the head of the Québec team

It is not necessary to include notices for awards and grants received from the FRSQ.

-proof of an active funding source to fulfill the Québec-based project.

ELIGIBILITY - QUÉBEC SCIENTISTS

 

Independent researchers who meet the following criteria are eligible:

-Canadian citizens or permanent residents (holding a permanent resident's card)

-domiciled in Québec

-working in Québec in the health sciences

-involved in a research project with a French research team, to the satisfaction of the FRSQ in an Inserm's research laboratory

-receiving sufficient funding from an active source to complete the project.

DURATION OF GRANT

 

The projects that are selected will be given one to three short-term missions per year for both Québec and France. Stays of 7 days to 3 months are eligible.

Grants are awarded for a duration of 2 years.

All teams may submit applications for each competition.

AMOUNT OF GRANT

 

Grants include for the head researcher and other researchers on the team, including Master’s and doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows:

-return transportation

-daily living allowance

-Inserm pays the allowance for Québec researchers in France at the rate of 85 Euros per day plus return transportation for members of the French team.

-The FRSQ pays the allowance for members of the French team at the rate of $120 Canadian per day plus return transportation for members of the Québec team.

REVIEW

Process

Applications are jointly reviewed by Inserm and the FRSQ.

Criteria

Teams:

-quality of research experience of heads of the Québec and French teams

-complementary nature of teams' methodological and disciplinary skills and added value of collaboration

-spin-offs of existing scientific collaborative efforts, if applicable

Research projects:

-scientific value of the joint project and potential spin-offs

Budget:

-justification for each mission

-realistic nature and duration of the budget requested for the mission
