Call for Québec-Europe (ERA-AGE2) projects on aging: Healthy Life Expectancy 2020 |
Program category: Research grants
Administrator: European Research Area in Aging 2 (ERA-AGE2)
Closing date
Pre-proposal deadline: October 3, 2011
Led by ERA-AGE2, a European research network on aging of which the FRSQ is a member, this call for proposals aims to fund international projects on aging. In total, €4.2M will be invested in the initiative over three years.
Multidisciplinary and multinational teams are invited to submit innovative projects exploring the medical, biological, physiological, psychological, social, economic and environmental aspects of healthy ageing.
Each project must be presented by a team of researchers from at least three different countries participating to the call. Each team member must be granted funding from a partner agency and meet all agency requirements and conditions. There are twelve funding agencies in the nine participating countries.
Applicants from Québec who are selected to receive funding must meet the eligibility requirements set out in the Common Rules and Regulations of the three Fonds de recherche du Québec. The FRSQ will provide up to C$80 000/year for each project that is selected and intends to support two or three projects.
Eligible expenses include operational costs (personnel, small equipment, operating expenses), project coordination costs and knowledge transfer and dissemination (conference attendance) costs (up to 3%/year beginning in Year 2). However, the salaries of principal investigators, graduate student awards, equipment and overhead costs are not covered. Applicants from Québec are invited to submit a full proposal and budget in Canadian dollars to the FRSQ. The researchers whose projects are selected will then receive a form from the FRSQ.
Further information on the program, the competition guidelines and the letter of intent form are available in the call for proposals on the ERA-AGE2 Web site.
