FLARE 2: New thematic postdoctoral training awards in the field of aging A partnership between the FRSQ, the ERA-AGE 2 (European Research Area in Ageing 2) Network and the Québec Network for Research on Aging
Montréal, July 23, 2010 – The FRSQ is pleased to announce that new thematic postdoctoral training awards in the field of aging will be offered through the FLARE 2 (Future Leaders of Ageing Research in Europe) program, which was launched on July 15th by the ERA-AGE 2 Network. The awards will be funded by the FRSQ (an ERA-AGE 2 member) and the Québec Network for Research on Aging. The three-year grants will enable postdoctoral students to take part in unique multidisciplinary training programs. The greater part of the applicant’s research project (main project) must be carried out in a host institution located outside Canada over a period of between 24 and 30 months. A complementary project with a different focus must then be undertaken for 6 to 12 months in a research institution located in another country. Applications must be submitted to the FRSQ as part of its regular postdoctoral awards program and to ERA-AGE 2. Applicants must follow the FRSQ’s standard postdoctoral awards application process by applying for an initial two-year grant and then applying for a one-year grant renewal. Foreign applicants are not eligible for this program. Deadline: October 15, 2010 Link to Postdoctoral awards program - 30 - |
