Last June 3, the Government of Québec unveiled the names of the 49 recipients of this year’s Ordre national du Québec awards, the highest distinction bestowed by the Government of Québec in acknowledgement of the achievements of exceptional Quebecers. The roster included a number of figures from the field of research and health.
The following persons were named Officer:
-Michel G. Bergeron, M.D., Professor at Université Laval’s Faculty of Medicine and Director of the Centre de recherche en infectiologie (CRI) de l'Université Laval (CHUQ-CHUL)
-Francine Décary, M.D., Ph. D., MBA, President and Chief Executive Officer of Héma-Québec
-Pavel Hamet, M.D., Ph. D., Full Professor of Medicine and Specialized Medicine at Université de Montréal and researcher associated with the Centre de recherche du CHUM - Hôtel-Dieu de Montréal
-Michèle Stanton-Jean, M.A., M. Ed., guest researcher at the Centre de recherche en droit public of the Faculty of Law at Université de Montréal, President of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO and Vice-Chair of the FRSQ’s Board of Directors
Gloria Jeliu, M.D., Full Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Medicine and researcher associated with the CHU Sainte-Justine research centre was appointed Knight.
